Fiskano has set science-based climate targets that have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This validation confirms that our targets are aligned with climate science and support global efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C.

Fiskano commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions 63% by 2035 from a 2024 base year, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions.
As a seafood company in the Netherlands, we recognize our responsibility to contribute to climate action across our operations and value chain.
In 2025, Fiskano reduced its Scope 1 and 2 emissions from 36.7 tCO₂e in 2024 to 24.8 tCO₂e — a reduction of nearly 33% in just one year.
With this progress, Fiskano has already achieved more than half of its total SBTi 63% reduction target for 2035. To stay on track, emissions will need to decrease further to 13.6 tCO₂e by 2035, but the strong start in 2025 shows that meaningful change is already underway.
This reduction is largely driven by the move to our new sustainable and energy neutral office and the switch to green electricity. In addition, Fiskano has introduced a new mobility policy in which electric vehicles are the standard choice for new company cars, gradually phasing out LPG and petrol vehicles. As fuel use in vehicles is now the main remaining emission source, this policy represents a major and positive step toward achieving the 2035 target.
